Program Notes
Five Miniatures for Solo Piano began as a study to explore the compositional, technical, and expressive possibilities available within these tiny forms. Upon completion of the entire piece, I gave each Miniature a name and realized that together they form the arc of an internal or interpersonal conflict, beginning with unexpressed passion, moving through stages of reflection, and ending with a new dedication to self-expression.
